Feisty Fawn on AMILO M1437G

Postby liviubero » Sat Aug 25, 2007 8:46 pm

Hi,
I am expecting for an AMILO M1437G to come this monday and the first thing I would like to do is install Ubuntu 7.04 Linux on it.
I read on different forums about the problems that come on installation (mainly because of the Ati video card and of the Intel chip set), but these problems where related to older versions of Ubuntu.
Have anyone tried to install the last version of Ubuntu (Feisty Fawn)?

Why don't you just try it?

Since Dapper everything important should work. With newer versions chances are better that e.g. the microphone works (without configuration).
And of course there are enough tutorials if there's a problem (ubuntuforums.org).

Actually, I am on the way to have a trip, and, if the Ati driver is not working for instance, and I should have to log in as root only with the shell working and install a new driver this way, then I would have to cancel my trip, because I need internet in order to do this.
This is why I would very like to know if I just install Feisty or not.

Just to update this - the M1437G works pretty much out the box with Ubuntu 7.04.

Nearly on the bottom of the page you linked to above ;-)

Wow - thanks for attracting my attention on that... I didn't read very carefully the whole page...
Thanks.
