Amilo A1655G laggy?

Postby EasyToIron » Sun Aug 26, 2007 4:30 pm

Hi. I own an Amilo A1655G and in the beginning it was all good. It could do most of the things that my stationary could do. Even play Guildwars. But after a while I began to experience strange freezing moments when I played games. So I uninstalled Guildwars and other hardware "demanding" games. But even with Warcraft 3 that requires a 400MHz processor and 128 mb ram it does the freezing. My laptop is a 1,8 GHz with 1 gb ram 'read 896 mb'.

The problem is that the game runs smoothly most of the time but I often get these odd lags where it seems like the laptop is thinking really hard for a moment or maybe cooling down a bit. The games never freeze totally just seem to drop to 1-2 frames per second. And it last for about 5-7 seconds when it happends. I just wondered if its a problem heard of before. And maybe something to be fixed?

hmm... Doesn't seem like anybody have a solution to the problem then. Well I looked through the hardware faq and I noticed something. My fan is always running! I cleared the fan for all the dust but its still running. Since the problem started I thought it might have been the video drivers that needed an update. But I couldn't find any. So I installed some drivers that some guy made called Omega drivers. But they didn't fix the problem back then. So is there someway for me to reduce the heat and stop the fan while still being able to use the laptop normally? Meaning without super nerfing it back to a commadore 64

Can you monitor your cpu temperature, if possible?
