Amilo 1437G sudden shutdown

Postby LexKR » Tue May 23, 2006 9:07 am

Hi everybody. I use my Amilo half year. Sometimes it sudden shutdown independent of CPU temperature and load. It happens continously during last month. Nothing is wrote in the system log. Before this trouble Amilo worked well.
Have anybody same problem? Advise please.

Clean the notebook as mentioned in the Hardware FAQs

It is probably just a problem with dust.

Thank you Borkar!

I'll try cleaning today.

But it's really strange that shuuting down does not depend on CPU temp or load. My Amilo can shutdown at 50C or at CPU usage of 3% at 800MHz.

well, finally I`ve disassembled to clean my laptop. There was not so much dust as I expected. Also I get new thermal paste on CPU, GPU and video RAM.

Unfortunately sudden shutdowns are still present now. However after cleaning CPU temperature decreased for 4-5'C.

I think the reason is overheating of videocard. Couse system shutdowns 100% if 3D game is running.

By the way, the thermal tube over GPU is black - is it normal? Other parts of system are of copper color.

Can anybody adwice?

I think you must call the FSC support unless you can't clean the GPU (dust on the GPU?). The black color is normal but it seems that you have some other heat problems that cannot be fixed without losing warranty.

Postby rubenue » Mon Jul 02, 2007 1:30 am

Hi LexKR!

I`ve got exactly the same problem with my Amilo 1437g. Did you finally solve this problem?? If so how?

I send my laptop twice to the FS support and the second time they changed the cpu, but still the same problem...
