Amilo L7300 Ram/cpu  Topic is solved

Postby Vincentvdp » Sat Sep 08, 2007 3:02 pm

Hi,

I want to upgrade the ram, and perhaps the cpu of my Amilo L7300. I was wondering where I could see if I have 2x 256 or 1x 512 ( I have 512 ram )

Also I wondered which cpu I would have to buy, I read some of the other topics, but wanted to know what was smartest choice for a new cpu.

With regards, Vincent

Everest should be able to recognize that, probably it's 2x256. Or open the laptop, you have to to that anyway ;-)

Well, as I thought that the max ram for my amilo would be 1024, I was a bit suprised when everest told me it was 2048.

Geheugencontroller-eigenschappen:

Ondersteund Geheugen Interleave 1-Way
Actuele Geheugen Interleave 1-Way
suported memorytype DIMM
suported memory voltage 3.3V
maximum memorymodule capacity 2048 MB
memory slots 2

sorry for the crappy english in the specs above, had to translate the names from dutch to english.:?

Is this a fault from everest, or am I able to pack my notebook with 2GB :D

<edit>

I came across this: Celeron M 440 1.86GHz, FSB 533MHz, 1MB Cache
and this will fit right?
WIth regards,
Vincent

2 x 1024 MB should work, at least 1024+256 have been reported to work ;-)

No, you need 400 MHz FSB. I'd recommend a Pentium M with Banias or Dothan core (of course with 400 MHz FSB).
Pentium M 735 works, for example.

(The chipset supports 533 MHz, but not the BIOS...)

i just put a 1gb RAM in my amilo l7300 and left the 256 mb in the other slot and it works. so, does this mean it can really take 2gb of RAM? hmmm ... i'm tempted to get another 1gig :)
