Installing a new inverter on an Amilo L7300

Postby ozrica » Mon Sep 10, 2007 1:19 pm

Does anyone have any experience/advice of installing a new inverter on an Amilo L7300?

I have taken the screen apart and am able to identify (I think) the inverter. It sits at the bottom front below the screen in between the speakers (picture attached).

Although the part number is 12-01746-02 SystemSource have quoted this part number 12-01745-01 at £36.43.

The wires live behind thick tape or it could be a protective sleeve on one side and on the other I really don't know what it is!

Are these wires going to need solder or anything like that?

Any help or advice would be greatly received.

The reason I am doing this is the screen is black but I can see a faint image but the VGA output works perfectly.

Amilo L7300 screen inverter

Postby joostlou » Sun Sep 23, 2007 8:56 pm

Dear, I have the same problem: my Amilo L7300 screen doesn't have any backlight anymore (very faint picture is still there). I assume the inverter may need replacement, but I couldn't find where to buy it. Thanks for forwarding the link or contact details of SystemSource mentioned in your message.
Did you figure out how to install the inverter or are you still waiting for a reaction on your request?

Thanks

Amilo L7300 screen inverter

I meanwhile disassembled my screen and unscrewed the inverter (one screw on left side). You will see that the cables to the left and right are easily disconnected from the back of the inverter. I will go ahead and order a replacement part.

I too have removed the clips. I didn't see this first time as they were covered and raped in tape. I think I'll go for broke amd order an inverter next week as well.
