For reasons I won't go into I have 'upgraded' my new 1818 from Vista for XP SP2. Encouraged by recent posts I managed to build a custom XP install CD slipsteaming the SATA drivers to get around the 'no hard drive' issue during XP install. With my custom disk all went well and XP installed perfectly... except... The system does not see the WLAN hardware at all. It was working OK under Vista so it is there but XP can't see it. It does not show up in device manager and neither is can the Intel Wireless Network Connection ID Tool!. Because it is not visible the driver (from the FS support site) does not install. Judging from the FS driver I think the WLAN chipset is the Intel 3945ABG. Can anyone please confirm this or help with this problem?
Thanks
