Problem installing XP on M4438G -> bluescreen

Postby Pondsy » Tue Oct 02, 2007 1:01 am

Hi!

First of all, I must say this is a great resource of information. Thanks a lot to all of you! :)

Then, I have a problem installing XP on my Amilo M4438G. I've made a XP cd with the raid drivers on using XP-Iso-builder. I'm using the right drivers also as explained here:

topic,26,-Installation-of-Windows-XP-Home-Pro-PE-FAQs.html#45

I've tried using VIA's 5.60 and 5.20 raid drivers, neither of theese worked. My concern is that it is something wrong with my computer.

I manage to boot the setup and everything, but right after I enter the serial key, I get this bluescreen:

Could anyone please help me?

you will need a setup CD with integrated servicepack 2. So if you dont have one, also integrate servicepack 2

Solution

Postby dnakad » Mon Oct 29, 2007 12:44 pm

Hi, yes I did follow the tutorial and it did have sp2 integrated, but without any sucess. I decided to redo the procedure but using another installation cd. And now it all works great. Most have been a problem with the installation CD.

Thats the solution, if anyone wonders. And if thats not working, then its probably that ur missing SP2, like Borkar says.

Thanks for the help anyway!
