Hello,
My v2030 fan started to make a buzzing noise a couple of weeks ago, but I blew in the vent and it stopped. Last night, it started again, and blowing doesn't solve it. However, if I tip the laptop backwards, it stops, but starts when I put it flat again. Does this sound like the fan just needs cleaning?
Also, I would like to give it a little more power, and I don't think it's worth buying a new notebook, as the v2030 has been very reliable, and I would just like a little extra power. I was thinking of putting in 1gb Ram and a Pentium M cpu. However, I have looked at this topic http://www.amilo-forum.com/lhtopic,492,0,asc,v2030+20fan+20buzzing,0.html and it says there is a problem with these processors. I don't really understand if it would be better to stick with the Celeron. Would it be worth the extra money to upgrade to a Pentium?
Edit: I think I understand that if I upgrade to a Pentium I need a 735 rather than a 740? Is that right? Or is it any processor than is a 7x5 model?
