Amilo D 7820 Bios image

Postby ggg » Thu Oct 25, 2007 8:01 am

Hi to all!

After upgraded to version A1F, this fujitsu Amilo D 7820 don't work.

I must downgrade the bios to a old version.

Someone has one? On the fujitsu site only A1F is present.

Please help me!

The problems introduced are:

- Battery level is always signed as unknown in windows
- The fans makes a noise too high
- In the summer, when external temperature is hot, the pc shuts down, thing that don't occours with older bios

Another question:

I see that exist on the market a Acer notebook (Aspire 1603) that has exact same hardware (mobo) of this fujitsu, i can try to flash with the acer bios? Or is a suicide?
Seems that acer bios has fix for power management...

Fine thanks!

PS: if someone has a older bios version, this can be extracted with bios flashing tool

Hi,
you can try the version from Kaypro A1000.
I flashed it onto an 7820 also to use another cpu, because a tool for modify the bios only works with the Kaypro bios.

http://www.premioinc.com/pc/service/?pg=6

The Acer 160x series is not 100% exact the same (the inverter connector is different), but the bios could also work.

But im not sure that this could resolve your problems...have you ever cleaned your fan? Does your battery still work?

Hi,

you are right, sorry. It must be the A1100 - its also with SIS chipset.

With this bios i was able to upgrade the mainboard workin with a cpu with 2,5Ghz - i found a bios patch from intel that doesnt work with regular medion or acer bios.

This could also be a problem with your new battery. Give me your mail adress and i send you a little tool to recalibrate it (perhaps it works). You need a clear DOS-bootdisk for it.

OK. but with 2,5ghz, the system become more hot or a cpu with this frequency raises minor temperature?

Intel Pentium M are supported by this cpu? or only desktop p4 cpu are supported?

Hi,
as you can see in my profile i have some different models of this notebooks. The Acer Aspire works with a 2,5 Ghz CPU and uses exactly the same cooler.
Im sure it gets hotter than a 2,0. The bus frequency is the same and more power creates more temperature.
There have been models with 2,8 up to 3,06 Ghz, but i dont own still such a model and cant say anything about the temperature.

The problem of this series ist most times the graphic adapter/video ram, but i still dont know if this could be a temperature problem that so many mainboards dies.

The Amilo Series has a special heatplate for the GPU like chipsets on most motherboards, the aspire and medion only a little plate. But thats not the solution - i have a defective Amilo MB also.

I dont have experience with Pentium M CPUs, but most of them have a lower operating voltage so they couldnt work.

youve got mail.
No, i used the original kaypro download. Its the Original Bios, the amilo and medion bios versions are patched for the OEMs and therefore some tools dont work with them.
