[amilo pa 1538] The FSC Linux Expierence topic

Postby energybb » Sat Nov 17, 2007 11:17 am

Hi @LL
i love my pa 1538 and linux so i tought i start a topic of it

i installed ubuntu gutsy 7.10 now and it runs fantastic to say at least, all my hardware got detected right after install.( even atheros wifi card )
Nvidia 100 drivers had to be activated manually in the restricted driver program( i use envy script for those pesonally).
compiz works smoothly on best settings ( mipmap support of some plugins is a bit crap imho)
the only thing i find missing now are the functions i had in windows like volume control / screen dimmer / silent mode etc.

i would like know if similar, or official software is available like the silent mode button and screen dimmer?.

When im done tuning everything and running il share my expeirence / problems i found here.
if i find a decent compiz-fusion benchmark il post those here aswell

It should be supported in model=fujitsu (parameter for snd-hda-intel), see also topic,1018,-Amilo-Pi1536+volume-wheel-problem.html

Kernel 2.6.24 has a screen brightness driver for Fujitsu, but I think it only works for Lifebooks.
