[Amilo M1437g]Problem X700 after upgrade Ram from 1GB to 2GB

Postby petitof » Sat Nov 17, 2007 9:56 pm

Hi!!
I upgraded my notebook with 2 GB Ram (total) (2x1GB) and now I have max resolution like 1024x768 and not 1280x800.
I use original Ati catalyst 7.10 for mobility video card, infact I have no problem with 1GB...I think It's a hypermemory problem!!

Ah..I use Windows XP!
Have you idea?????
Thank you

Check if there aren't too many VideoCard drivers under the X700 in DeviceManager(some kind of hardware conflict...), also the monitor drivers.
It's not hypememory problem, but more likely the computer works in software rending state.

Thank you but my scenario is:
Windows XP (clean install) + Catalyst (mobility version) and the result is negative with 2 GB of RAM, positive with 1GB.
I'm sorry because in notebook data sheet there aren't describe any contraindication about the Ram upgrade to 2GB of Ram..

If it's about the 256MB version of X700 it could be. I think it has some kind of BIOS feature connected with Hypermemory. You should try the modified drivers with modtool(they allow some settings from this kind), or try some older drivers.
Good luck!
