wrong actions on several keyboard butons  Topic is solved

Postby rudeboyke » Mon Nov 19, 2007 7:41 pm

Hi,

i recently bought an amilo xi 1526. Works very well only on my keyboard (which includes a numpad) i have some issues:

several keys use different actions than they are supposed to.

- the 'right arrow' displays '.*-' when touched
- numpad '2' displays 'dsa' when used
- same for numpad '3'
- numpad '5' opens search and enables capslock
- numpad '8' and '9' display 'ewq'

this is very annoying, i bougth this model, among others, because of the numpad.

Does anyone know how to solve this??

Thanx in advance!

Three ideas:
- hardware reset (see FAQ)
- I remember some keyboard problems in conjunction with the Synaptics touchpad driver (uninstall, newer driver, ...)
- is there a BIOS update?

thank you for your response, the bios update did help and the keyboard problem is solved.

however, now my audio is lagging with every operation the notebook has to do (even when swapping windows in vista)

i don't know if this is an audio issue, maybe an overall performance issue is possible?

i allready udated my audio drivers, which did nog help, any ideas anyone?

thanks in advance

Try to install the VIA RAID driver, version 5.30c. 5.40 and newer can cause such problems.
