fan and temperature on v2035

Postby kwz » Tue Jul 04, 2006 11:54 pm

Hello!

I have two questions.

First, I would like to know, if temperature of CPU near 55 C is normal?
As second, I have a question about fan control. Is normal that fan is constantly running?

my distro: MDK2006Free,
my kernel: 2.6.12-12mdk

PS. Sorry for my english ...

Yes.

Maybe. Which processor do you have? Do you use power-saving techniques?

So my CPU is: Intel(R) Celeron(R) M processor 1.60GHz.

I was trying to do some tricks with power save, but this not make any results - fan was still running (p4_clockmod as a CPU control module, and ondemand as a scaling governor).

The Celeron has not the EIST features of the Pentium M. So it is normal that the fan is needed much more.
I don't know whether it is possible to reduce the voltages - you could try it.

Do you have a Windows installation where you could install RM Clock? It's an easy way to see what you can do ;-)

This is a known problem on several Amilo notebooks. The reason is the ACPI implementation which isn't very complete, but relies on Windows to do some things. The only certain solution is to fix the DSDT for the notebook. There's a fixed DSDT for Amilo Pro V2030.

It probably won't work for V2035 though, but you could try using it as a model if you try to make your own for V2035.

I had the same problem with my Amilo Pro 2010.
