DVD copying not working

Postby kroc » Mon Jul 10, 2006 3:40 pm

Hi,

I have an Amilo-L. I can copy files to CD but when I try to copy files to DVD-R or DVD+R it fails:

"Windows encountered a problem when trying to copy this file. What do you want Windows to do?"

Info that may be relevant:
with no disc in the drive the drive name is "DVD-RW Drive (D: )"
but
when I put in a CD, it changes to "CD Drive (D: )".
And when I put in a DVD-R or DVD+R it also changes to "CD Drive (D: )". Should this be the case or should it say "DVD..."?

Thanks.

What is the exact laptop model name? Are you sure you have a DVD writer or just a DVD-Combo drive?

thanks for the reply. When I was trying to burn to DVD I was draging the files to the the D-drive like I would when burning a CD. This does not seem to work for DVD's. I used Nero and now I can burn DVD's.

Thanks for the help.
