XP installation & partitions

Postby scalpas » Wed Dec 12, 2007 4:56 pm

Hi,

I have an Amilo M1437G. I want to install Win XP Pro instead of Win XP family Ed which is on the recovery disk. I would also like to create 3 partitions on my disk. To create 3 partitions I have to delete the current partition.
I know there are some files somewhere on the disk which are used for the recovery cd, but where ? Will they be erased if I delete the partitition ? If I remember correctly, erasing those files voids the warranty ?

Thanks
scalpas

All M1437 sold here in Germany have a recovery disk which is a modified Windows cd - so it doesn't require any data from the hdd. I think it's the same in your case.
Just check if your recovery cd is a normal Windows cd.
