Hi there,
I'm having since days problems with audio drivers. I already tried a lot of things, also the ones suggested in the forum, and i have headache out of it.
This is the situation:
Amilo xi2428, Windows XP SP2.
After a clean installation of XP, in device manager there seems to be no problems with audio driver, XP has already installed them, legacy drivers. But when entering the "Sound and Audio Devices" in Control Panel, no device is found. The audio doesn't work.
Installation of Realtek audio drivers (latest version 1.84) which includes also the kb888111, seems to run smoothly, however after reboot (required) the situation is the same as above.
Versions prior to 1.84 give the same result.
I also tried to install the drivers manually giving XP the inf file, but none of the one provided by Realtek work. One weird thing in device manager is that with all the devices is possible to uninstall them, only with the audio ones is not possible. So i cannot remove manually audio devices!
I even tried to give XP the inf file used for Vista, included in the original Notebook's configuration. The result is that after that is not even possible to update the driver again! the update driver windows does not come anymore.
Using the original setup (GUI) for Vista, Realtek ALC883 Audio Codec from Fujitsu-Siemens, also doesn't work. The setup stops ("no driver supported for this package")
I tried to reinstall XP. same result.
I even tried to use a customized XP installation using nLite, removing all the audio drivers XP installs by default. No way.
I really don't know what to do anymore. Hope somebody can help.
