Firstly, do you have this driver on your Driver and Utility Disk, if so after installing it go to the Device Manager and under Mice and other pointing Devices you should have Synaptics PS/2 Port Pointing Device. You should also be able to see that this driver program has been installed if you go to add/remove programswhere it will be listed under Synaptics.
Next, go to Start - Control Panel - Mouse. When you click on Mouse the Mouse Properties Window will open but intead of showing a mouse it will actually show you a picture of the touchpad.
The top menu will show:
Buttons/Pointers/pointer Options/Wheel/Hardware/Device Settings.
If you click on Device Settings the new window will give you a page with another box called settings. Click on this and another window opens which will give you more information and option on settings.
In the Taskbar at the bottom right there should also be an animated icon of the touchpad which if you right click will also give you access to all of the properties and options.
Hope this works for you.
Great, got all that fancy stuff, but WHAT DOES IT ACTUALLY DO? Where are the options to disable tap? Where is the option to set up a scroll area? Do you have anything useful in the Device Settings area? Or, like me, do you just have the option to make your left pad button always open Windows Media Player?! (Who the hell thought of that one eh?!)
Also, can you tell me, when you right-click on the system tray icon, go to 'Accessories' and choose 'Pressure Graph' or something, does this actually work for you? Because it doesn't for me.
Still none the wiser.
Rgds,
Martin
