Postby fabio2005 » Fri Jul 28, 2006 12:24 pm

I wish upgrade the cpu (now there is a Sempron 3100) on Amilo A1645 with a Turion MT 34. I need jumper setting to configure motherboard.

Thanks for all.

Are you sure you have to change jumpers?
Nowadays this should be recognized by BIOS automatically.

Sometimes it takes a little bit time ;-)

It is possible to upgrade it with a Turion. The mainboard recognizes the settings automatically. You should make sure to have the newest BIOS installed.
A german user reported that there's no great benefit by using a Turion. It's not that much faster (he bought a MT-37) and the fan doesn't run less...

PS: A cpu upgrade can cause problems with warranty...

Changing cpu Sempron 3100 with Turion mt-34 in amilo A1645

Postby fabio2005 » Fri Aug 25, 2006 9:03 am

OK I changed the cpu sempron with turion mt-34and the BIOS automatically recognized it.
Another question what's right working temperature? The software AMD dashboard demo software indicate 40-42 °C when cpu is free and 50-53 °C when cpu is busy.

About cpu temperature on amilo A1645 with Turion MT 34

Postby fabio2005 » Fri Aug 25, 2006 5:25 pm

I've done another test (with a software cad) and when is busy after 10 minutes the cpu temperature has reached 63°C. What's the max sopportable value of cpu temperature for the A1645 with cpu Turion MT 34 to haven't problem?
Thanks for all

The CPU itself won't have any problems up to 90°C or even more. But nonetheless you should check your heat-conductive paste in case of more than 75-80° ;-)
