If you would let us know, which type of notebook you own, which operating system you run and which power manager you installed, we might be able to help you. ;-)

Did you try the one from the FSC-site for the M7440?

Can you please uninstall all power-managers, uninstall your chipset-drivers, reinstall the chipset-drivers and reinstall (only the correct) power-manager?

If you try to reinstall the chipset drivers, it should automatically uninstall the old ones or give you an option to do that.

But I fear, you have a bigger problem here. This sounds like defective hardware.
I recommend to test your RAM with memtest and your HDD with scandisk or something similar.

no that crashes has nothing to do with this problem, i will reinstall windows soon, but i can't do it now...i updated chipset drivers, and now im going to get power manager...hey but power manager is a soft right? not a driver or something like that? do you now some other ways to get that wifi button to work without power manager?

Right, the Power Manager is just a software!
But it uses interfaces that may be provided by the chipset driver.

The only other way I know to get this key working is to write your own program to do this job. This means to intercept the correct key hook and call the corresponding interrupt. Both of them I do not know.
