Amilo m1425, startup trouble.

Postby AmiloSwede » Tue Feb 12, 2008 1:27 pm

My Amilo M1425 is acting strange. When I want to start it up, I have to push the power button up to 50 times before it finally starts up. When it finally starts up it runs perfectly though.... I've tried the BIOS restore and different versions of the BIOS, but the problem remains.
This problem occurs both when on battery and on AC. Has anyone alse had this annoying problem? What is wrong?

You can try the "hardware reset", see FAQ.

Maybe the contacts of your power-button are corroded or distorted.
Does it start better if you push the button harder or wobble it when pressing?

If you're still in warranty, report to FSC.
If not, and if I'm right, you or a local computer-dealer should be able to fix it if you can manage to open the case.

I'll open it tonight or tomorrow and check the switch.
I'll be back. Thanks for the tip.
Cross your fingers...

Did you find a way to solve the start up problem?
Seems like I'm having the same problem with my amilo. :,(
