Amilo D 7820 startup problem (beep codes?)

Postby Dr_Krall » Wed Feb 13, 2008 11:42 am

A friend left me with one of his laptops that refuses to startup.

There is four (4) beeps that's repeating when you power the laptop on and the screen is totally blank. No BIOS info or anything shows up. Anyone who knows what these beep codes mean?

i have the same problem and am wondering if you have solved your problem yet or found out what the 4 beeps mean?

i just went to boot my laptop and i grabbed it by
the screen to move it a bit liftted one corner about 2 inches of the
floor and it slipped out of my hand, and fell, but only from such a
short height and only one corner was up , and now it wont boot at all
just emits 4 beeps and then shuts down,

Assuming that you have an AMI bios the four beeps mean that something is wrong with your onboard timer.
Maybe your CMOS battery is empty.

i had the same problem. it was the power adapter... it was not the original one and supplied 16V instead of 19 Volts. I think 4 beeps means the battery is empty and the laptop cannot boot.
