Amilo Xi2528 - sound on headphones only on one ear

Postby KillaKHAN » Tue Feb 26, 2008 8:58 am

so everything else is fine, the internal soundspeakers work fine, but when I plug the headphones in (TDK MP100) I only get sound on one ear

I've tried it with other headphones and installing new drivers but nothing changed...

anyone has any idea what to do?

I'm running vista home premium that was delivered with the new laptop

Is the sound missing on the left or on the right side?
If it is the left side, pull out the jack a little bit. If it is the right side, try to push the jack deeper in.

If it doesn't work, send your notebook back. It's a case of defective hardware and covered by the warranty.

it works when I pull it out a bit on both ears but I have to hold it with my hand all the time to make it work so not really an option

should I take it for repair or do you think they will exchange it, I bought it on friday...

Ok, though both of us speak german, let's keep it in english - just for continuity. ;-)

There is nothing that can be repaired. The jack will have to be exchanged, which means to either exchange the audio-module or the mainboard (depending on the construction).

Bring back the whole notebook and get a new one. If you bought it in a local store, take your headphones with you and test it.

I bought it in Mediamarkt Klagenfurt, I'll take it back on friday and request they exchange it for another new laptop, but it's anoying as I have to delete the software that could be abused by another person if I leave it on...

Well I guess there's nothing I can do.

P.s. I speak german as well as english but actually I'm from Slovenija. I posted in both forums as I first posted here and then saw, that the german version was more crowded. :D
