V2035D Memory Issues

Postby rhysduk » Tue Feb 26, 2008 2:36 pm

Hi guys,
I have a Amilo Pro V2035D.
Serial Number: YBAP****** [removed]
Model: V2035D WL1

VFY: [removed]

Now im sure im right in thinking this laptop would support 2 sticks of 1gb memory for it.

I have ordered two matched pair of memory sticks (2x1gb) from ebuyer.co.uk, the first set i had were only showing 512mb each, totalling 960mb in windows (64mb shared gfx). So thinking that the sticks had been wrongly labelled, i returned them, and sent for another pair.

I've just put these in, and have got the same problem.

I've looked in the BIOS but cant seem to find anything of use.
Does anyone know if im missing something vital, or if the laptop does support 2gb of memory even?

Cheers guys and gals
Rhys

According to the datasheet only 512MB are supported. But these values are known to be imprecise.

You can try to run only one module. If 1GB is recognised, try a mix of your old and new RAM and see if the correct value is recognised. If this is the case, another set of 1GB-modules may work.

Could you point me in the direction of the datasheet please.

Everything that I have found on the interent, says it should support 2gb MAX of memory. This is why im confused.

I think even teh electronic manual says it suports 2gb too.

Thanks

Paste Amilo Pro V2035 datasheet in Google (without D because nothing will be found then) and pick a random PDF-file.

btw: I tried the other way (V2035D) but couldn't find a source that tells about 2GB.
