Amilo 4438G Insect behind display

Postby hovmoller » Tue Aug 01, 2006 11:26 am

Hi

During this hot summer one of those tiny little flies that swarm by the millions has crawled in behind the front layer of my display so now I constantly see a small black line there.

I've tried to suck it out with a vacuum cleaner but it seems to be stuck.

I'm a little hesitant to just try to take the screen apart without any instructions on how to do so. Does an instruction of how to dismantle this exist?

Any help is much apreciated, thanks!

You could call the support, in my opinion this is a production failure - the bugs shouldn't be able to get into the display. Of course it's possible that Fujitsu says that isn't a case for warranty - but so far I never heard of this problem regarding an Amilo, only desktop TFTs.

Hi hovmoller. That's quite an unusual issue to read on a computer's forum

Anyway, there's no need, in my opinion, to call the support and waste money, as laptops lcd screen cases are usually very easy to open. If this is the case, you should see some rubber dots on the surface of your screen case. With the tip of a needle or a scisor, pull them out. They pop easily. Underneath them is a screw. Just unscrew all of them and there you go.

Cheers!
