Amilo L 1310 G running very hot

Postby Taoseeker » Tue Mar 04, 2008 6:53 am

Hi

I have Amilo L 1310 G intel processor Cerlon M 1,5 GHz and 864 MB RAM. This laptop has been to service and replaced a few components and a new screen because of overheating. After that it has been running just fine.

I have purchased a PCMCIA "TV smart card". It works fine but gets rather hot. Now I am wondering if my computer is not made for fun things like this.

I have been wondering if it is possible to fit a more silent fan because it runs constantly "on high" only when Word is open too. I don't think there are any BIOS updates for this model.

I also am hoping that I could double RAM then Vista might run easily on this machine. Is that possible for this Amilo? Have any body tried to tweak this model in any way?

1. Try to clean the radiator.
2. Replace Intel Celeron M with Intel Pentium M, especially the one with Dothan core, if possible.
3. Install and configure properly the Notebook Hardware Control http://www.pbus-167.com/
4. Make sure your HDD is not getting too hot. Perhaps another model would be cooler.
