[Amilo Pi 1556] Nothing on 2nd screen

Postby Gerrit Jan » Tue Mar 04, 2008 2:54 pm

Hallo,

I have an Amilo Pi 1556 and connected an Philips 107t4 CRT (vga) with a DVI-i > VGA converter to the notebook.
But when it is connected there is nothing shown on the screen, it stay's black.
When i make an print screen i can see that there is an extended desktop en i can drap and drop files and folders to the 2nd screen. The converter is not defect and the screen is also working.
I reinstalled the driver (official and alternative) several times but it didn't help, i even tried other operating systems (Windows XP, Vista, Ubuntu 7.10).

Is there any one with the same problem and/or have a solution, i think it's an hardware problem.

Is it possible to get an output with Fn+F4 (try more than once)?

(It is possible that it's a hardware problem, in the German forum someone had to send the laptop in and the graphics board was replaced, then it worked again.)

No that doesn't work.
Mmmmm i also was thinking it's is a hardware problem, does this notebook has in integrated graphic card or is it apart from the main board (if it is apart i can replace it my self (warranty is expired))

It is apart from the mainboard, MXM 2 according to the datasheet.
