Enable touchpad

Postby Klemen25 » Tue Aug 01, 2006 5:56 pm

Hello

I am trying to enable my touchpad to be able to start scrolling when draging my finger at the right edge of the pad.
In the drivers, I have only option to enable different actions for the buttons, but no for pad gestures.

Does this even exists...or am I missing sometihng, and should be called stupid?

Tnx!

Probably you have a Synaptics touchpad?

Do you have Synaptics driver installed?
You could try these: http://www.synaptics.com/support/drive.cfm

The Synaptics driver configuration is a little bit hidden ;-)
There's somewhere a list with Synaptics devices, choose your touchpad and click the button below. Then you'll get more options.

Yes
I am stupid- there are three drivers on the cd for touchpad. Use Alps touchpad driver- and it works.

Took me long enough. :(
Thank you

I am having the same problem, I have PI 1505 and I have installed the latest synaptics driver following advice from here but all I see on the left are the buttons to configure, and it shows a mouse as the pic. If I drop down the box I only have other pointing devices, niether says touch pad yet the driver has installed. I drill down to this from control panel / mouse is that right? Any help please Thanks

Can you post a screenshot (press Alt+Print to copy active window to clipboard)?

No problem, I have attached all four main screens in a doc file. As you can see from the pictures I have gone back to some sligthly older drivers which were the latest ones on the fujitsu CD that came with it. But the latest drivers give exactly the same screens , it just keeps seeing it as a mouse! Very frustrating! I have cleaned it alll out, updated bios to 6c tries alps etc, running out of ideas now.

Are you sure that you've got a Synaptics touchpad? Maybe an Alps, too?

Well I have tried the Alps driver as well it works but with the same issues ..see's it as a mouse. Also there are no Alps drivers on the driver CD only Synaptics which would suggest that it is a Synaptics touchpad.

Virtual scrolling on Amilo Pi 1505

Postby tomhe » Sat Sep 30, 2006 4:05 pm

I have the same problem with the touchpad on my Amilo Pi 1505. I have tried the latest generic driver from Synaptics but virtual scrolling is not available.

What I'd like to know is if the touchpad on the Amilo Pi 1505 supports virtual scrolling at all. Does anybody know? If so, what driver should be used?

On the german forum fastfox uploaded a driver (for Pa 1510):

Maybe that works for you, too.

You got me going there for a while :) I tried but no good... well you can still use the pad but you cant access the finger sensing tab in the mouse driver and it says, can not connect to synaptics pad when you right click on the taskbar icon so there is still no way to enable virtual scrolling dam oh well thanks for trying 8)

Yes, its same here with my Pi1505, but try to put both of your finger together on the pad once and release, you'll notice its changed to start scrolling. I know its not what we want but at least better than nothing : )

Thanks
