Seems like the Interface doesn't work properly.
The first thing you can do is a hardware-reset. I don't think that it will solve your problem, but it will have no negative effect.
Second you should check if the HDD is connected correctly to the controller. Sometimes they become lose after a while and have to be replugged.
If this still doesn't work, you should try another HDD. Most likely the interface of your HDD is damaged. Maybe you can make your current HDD run in another computer to save your data.
The worst case I can imagine is, that the interface mounted on your mainboard is defective. If this is the case, even another HDD will not work. To repair this would mean to exchange the mainboard, what makes no sense in financial terms.
