Amilo forgets its BIOS settings

Postby graciouscaptain » Wed Aug 09, 2006 11:42 am

Hi,

My Amilo which I've inherited from my partner is having a few tantrums lately. Currently it's switched on, and must stay like that if I'm to ever be able to use it. The other day I had to turn it off, and needless to say I wish I hadn't. Upon switch on I get "operating system not found". So I go into the BIOS Menu and re-assign the Primary Master as the Hard Drive, Save and Exit. Unless I have left the laptop for some time without power on, this re-assign doesn't have any effect. It still forgets to change it and keeps on at me about "operating system not found", even once changed and re powered. My partner has mentioned that the battery might be getting worn out (not the power battery but an internal one?). Any help would be much appreciated as I'm a little confused about what to do to remedy the problem :(

Hi,

try this:
BIOS- and Hardware-Reset (The standard solution for many problems!)
- Load in BIOS the "Setup Defaults", quit with "Save&Exit"
- Switch off the notebook, remove batteries and AC adapter, press the power button for 10 seconds

If it doesn't work, call FSC support:

Problema is the battery, open de notebook and locate a small battery like a battery of a watch.
