Amilo Pro V3205/Si1530 CPU M0 stepping support

Postby metalchaos » Mon Mar 24, 2008 1:09 pm

Hi

I want to ask if M0 stepping cpus would work with this notebook (T5250, T5450).
I can see that the latest BIOS adds support for B0 stepping (T5600-T7200) but I don't know if M0 would work.
I've found some T5450s on ebay that world be a great update as I need 64bit support.

I've seen for sale some v3205 with T5250 but I ask here just to be sure.
Also, just curious, if I plug an unsupported CPU (like 800fsb T8300) would it work at 667fsb or it wouldn't even turn on (I've let aside power requirements, just want to know how flexible the bios is).

Thanks!

As far as I know, socket M and P are physically incompatible.
You will just not be able to install a socket P-CPU in a notebook that is equipped with socket M.
