AMILO M7400- Can Wi-Fi be configured to activate on startup?

Postby lelemb » Wed Mar 26, 2008 4:08 am

Hi All,

This is my first post on this forum.

I have an AMILO M7400 bought two years ago.

Whenever I switch it on it will not automatically detect Wi-Fi networks in the range.
I <have> to press the quick-start button on the top left of the keyboard, upon which a message with a checked-box will appear on screen
"Wireless LAN Wi-Fi"

Is it not possible for the Wi-Fi to be active automatically on start-up?

I have another FS 'S' series laptop in the office and the Wi-Fi automatically detects on Start-up.
TIA

Here is the solution for starting wireless on startup :

go START > run > notepad ENTER

write this in the notepad

Set WshShell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell")

Set oExec = WshShell.Exec("C:\Program Files\Launch Manager\WisWBSet.exe")

do while WshShell.AppActivate("Wireless Status Option")=False
WScript.Sleep 100
loop

WScript.Sleep 100

WshShell.sendkeys("{TAB}{TAB}{LEFT}~")

and save it as wifi.vbs

put the file wifi.vbs in the startup folder and this will do the job

Hi

I was wondering about the same. I have made the .vbs-file and put it in C:\document and settings\all users\start\programs\startup and it doesn't seem to work. Which startup folder should it be?

all the best,

Isn't it "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup"? Or, easier, just right click on the "Startup" folder in your start menu.

Hmmm....the .vbs-file is there. It just doesn't "do" (ie activate the wifi) anything on startup.

Hi all..

Have been struggeling with this issue a few days since I got hold of a Amilo laptop.

Code: Select all
Set WshShell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell")

Set oExec = WshShell.Exec("C:\Program Files\Launch Manager\WisWBSet.exe")

do while WshShell.AppActivate("Wireless Status Option")=False
WScript.Sleep 100
loop

WScript.Sleep 100

WshShell.sendkeys("{TAB}{TAB}{LEFT}~")

You need to edit the path to your Launch Manager Directory so it fit your language or where your Launch Manager is installed
otherwise windows can't find the file in startup

E.g ("C:\Program Files\Launch Manager\WisWBSet.exe")

I have made a registry entry, so it's startup earlier in:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
added a new stringvalue called "Wifi" with the full path to my wifi.vbs file
(E.g C:\Program\Launch Manager\wifi.vbs)

I have placed my wifi.vbs in the Launch Manager folder

Hope you got it
