Postby mel000 » Thu Mar 27, 2008 5:26 am

Problem 1:

It takes foreeeeveeer for my laptop to start up and start working at normal speed in the mornings. It's frustrating. What can I do?

Problem 2:

A few months ago the laptop had some virus and had to be reformatted (if thats the phrase). Since then I don't have any sound. Help!

Please give us some more information:
What type of laptop do you have?
Which operating system are you running?

I assume that XP Professional 2 means service pack 2.

Do you have chipset drivers installed?

he? I know nothing of pc's. If it's too complicated, it's ok.

Just thought there would be an easy answer.

For Chipset please install this and reboot:
Chipset

I think there are other devices that do not work or will stop working after you installed the chipset driver.
Please install the following drivers in the given order and everything should work again (reboot, if you are asked to do so):
Video
Audio
Modem
LAN
