Amilo L 1300 Ubuntu sluggish - more ram?

Postby pleo » Sun Apr 06, 2008 2:42 pm

I use Ubuntu 7.10 on an Amilo L 1300 with a pentium M 1.5 GHz processor. Unfortunately, it runs sluggishly. Since I only have 512 MB Ram, do you think that upgrading it to 1 GB would provide a noticeable increase in performance?

BTW, does anyone happen to know what's the max ram you can put into an Amilo L1300. Some sources say it's 1GB, others claim it's 2 GB.

Any help much appreciated.

Yes, Ubuntu will run faster with 1GB RAM.
I don't know if it will run with 2GB. The chipset supports it but I have no idea if the bios does.
