Opening the chassis in the Amilo D 7820

Postby monteen » Fri Aug 11, 2006 8:41 pm

Hi,
I need to open the chassis of my Amilo D7820 because I want to replace the CPU. Once I have pulled all the screws, what should I do? the upper part of the chassis seems to be impossible to open, it must have still something that holds it in its place!
thanks in advance!

I own just the basic manual, which explains just how to turn it on :)
I bought it used so I don't know if it came with a detailed manual

Anyway I've got the same problem that some other guys reported. One detached all the screws, the battery, ram, hd and cdrom, the chassis still doesn't open, seems locked on the CPU/GPU section! And I wanted to change the CPU. :(

anyway thx for your quick reply! ;)

the trick is to remove front panel above keyboard (this one covering power switch). The best way is to pull the plastic part covering hinge of screen, so you will probably need also to take off front LCD frame.
After panel is removed, screws holding keyboard will appear and rest of work will become nice and easy ;)
