Upgrading Pi2515 from 1GB to 2GB recognises only 1536MB

Hi, I purchased a Pi2515 (T7100, 1.8GHz) with 1GB ram about 2 months ago. I've now just bought a Pi2530 (T7250, 2GHz) for someone else in the office which comes with 2GB ram. The user for the Pi2530 uses Word and Exel, whereas i use engineering programs so want to 'steal' the ram. I don't want to go through the schlep of taking over the Pi2530 so i've decided to swap the Pi2515's 1GB with the Pi2530's 2GB. However, the Pi2515 reports (in bios and Windows XP) only 1536MB with the 2GB module installed. I would have thought that if there were compatibility issues, it would not recognise any of it?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
