Amilo D 1845 Battery Replacement

Postby Ilovemylaptop » Wed Apr 30, 2008 6:35 pm

Hi everyone,

I am a proud owner of a Amilo D 1845 (which has driven me mad with its overheating and randon switching off but i shall leave that for another post).

A while ago i noticed my battery wasnt being charged and so i could use the laptop but if the AC charger fell out the laptop would say critical battery level and switch off.

Yesterday it completely switched off and i cannot switch it on at all.

I want to order a new battery but I need to install it on my laptop and im not sure how to get the old battery out? Does anyone have this laptop and can tell me how to get it out and if im doing the right thing?

P.s my warranty is finished so i cant give it to them.

Sorry, but: RTFM ;-)

Please consult your manual, page 24.

Hi, I figured out how to get the battery out!! it was very simple and thank god i figured it out just before i was able to unsrcew the whole thing!!!!

I took the battery out but the laptop does not switch on? Does this mean the fault is with the adaptor... do fujitsus switch on without a battery inside?

The notebook should turn on without battery.
But sometimes we have posts where someone complains about a non-working notebook, when the battery is removed.
Normally this is due to a faulty mainboard or powerboard and we recommend the user to return the notebook. But since you are already out of warranty, it wouldn't make much sense to spend the money. I think you will have to live with it.

PS: RTFM is a common abbrevation in net slang for: "read the fine manual" and often used when a problem can be solved by simply reading the standard documents. "fine" is often replaced by a more vulgar word. Please don't feel offended. :)
