Please consult your manual, from page 50 for the procedure.

You will need DDR2-modules, PC2-4200 or PC2-5300. You can either install two 1GB-modules or one 2GB-module.

I recommend you to install two 1GB-modules PC2-5300 since this will be the fastest option.

Since sometimes there are problems with new RAM, you should look for brands (e.g. MDT, Kingston, Samsung).

hikaru - What makes you say PC2-5300? Everywhere I've looked says PC2-4200, am I missing a trick? I too own a V2030 and plan to buy another gig of ram to take it upto 2GB, I'm just wondering if I should buy 2GB of PC2-5300 or just another 1GB of PC2-4200.

rod - Have you sorted this yet? I will post a tutorial on this including a link to the type of memory you want at the best price if not.

I say that, because I once had PC2-4200 installed and now run PC2-5300 though my datasheet says that only PC2-4200 is supported.
It also says that only 2GB are supported, but have a look at my profile! ;-)

It's the same thing for other models. Many users in the german amilo-forum upgraded their RAM in a way that should just not be possible, according to the datasheet. I know no one who complained that an upgrade didn't work due to a change from PC2-4200 to PC2-5300.
The datasheets provided by FSC are not correct in terms of RAM.

I hope my post will help you to resolve your question:

Corsair - VS1GSDS533D2 (1024 MBytes, DDR2-SDRAM, SO-DIMM, 266.7 MHz (PC4200) )
Samsung - M4 70T3354CZ3-CD5 (256 MBytes, DDR2-SDRAM, SO-DIMM, 266.7 MHz (PC4200) )
- using WinXP Pro

Works completely fine, and the system did not have problem to recognize new Corsair memory. The system (startup, applications, ... ) is much much faster, however original HDD is very slow. Any suggestion which HDD might fit Amilo´s requirements?

This is what I mean.
For some reasons it is important to know the model (e.g. recommending a new hard drive) and it wasn't clear from your previous post.

You will need a S-ATA-HDD. 120GB should work without any problems bigger ones might cause problems. I recommend you to buy the WD1200BEKT (Western Digital) or the HM120HJ/HM121HJ (Samsung). Both have 16MB cache and 7200rpm. I would prefer the WD because it is specified for 60°C max. operating temperature which might be important if you run a HDD with 7200 rpm.
