Postby marko160 » Sun May 04, 2008 4:49 pm

Hello.

I wan't to upgrade RAM on my amilo a1645. I don't know wher the RAM bay is on the labtop and how to get to it so if you could give some instructions I will be greatfull. Also I read on the forum that a lot of labtops have problems when new memory modules are instaled. Could anyone recomend some memory module brands to avoid these problems or some other advice. I don't wont to by modules and then they don't work, I can't return them back to the shop.

Thanks for all your replyes.

The RAM is behind the big service door on the under-side of the notebook.
You will need SO-DIMM DDR PC2700 or PC3200. PC3200 is faster.

You should look for brands like MDT, Kingston or Samsung. However I cannot grant that it will work since it is never sure that other RAM-modules will work. Using brands will only reduce the risk.

You should not forget to take care of ESD.
