I think that your processor is bad...In my case worked
My upgrade (amilo pro v2030):
- RAM from 512Mb (2x256) to 2 Gb (2x1Gb, Kingmax)
- battery from stock (max 1h) to 4400 mAh (2h)
- HDD from Samsung 40Gb to Samsung 160Gb s-ata II
- CPU from Celeron M 1.5 GHz to Pentium M 1.7 GHZ (SL7EP)
With CPU upgrade I had some emotions (stuck at 600 MHZ) but after installing RM CPU Clock Utility I resolved.
My profile in RM Clock is "Performance on demand" using P-state transitions (PST) with 2 positions: 1st at 6x multiplier and 0,988 V and 2st at 17x multiplier at 1,34 V. The average CPU temperature is around 50 degrees.

I have found out that my V2030 version has a so-called embedded processor (Intel® Celeron® M Processor 370):
http://ark.intel.com/Compare.aspx?ids=27145,27591,27592,

Does that mean it's integrated into the mainboard and therefore not upgradeable? I'd rather know before I start disassempling my laptop.
Another thing, if I get a processor with Enhanced Intel® Speedstep Technology, will I still need a program to change voltage?
Thanks in advance!

I never heard that some V2030 have the CPU integrated, so I think you should just follow the tutorial and have a look.

In theory, it should work without a special program, the BIOS just has to support (and use) EIST. If reloading the BIOS defaults doesn't help, then you can try to activate EIST with RM Clock - at least some years ago there was a checkbox for EIST. Then it worked even without RM Clock (after the next reboot). But I don't know if this works always or only sometimes.
In every case it seems to work with special software always running.

Hello V2030 (and hopefully WinXP) experts,

in our german forum we currently have a V2010 user who followed this tutorial [1] and now can only boot his XP installation in safe mode. An attempt to install XP from another OEM CD locked up.
Can somebody please give any advice? I will point the user to this thread.

Sorry for the delay, it's been a while since I logged in here.

I'll take a look into this at some point this week, sorry it's not as fast as you'd hope but I'm very short of time at the moment.

Hi everybody.
I updated my processor from Celeron 1.5 to Pentium M 740 1.73 with 533 FSB
I using RMClock to enable speedstep, but processor still have 100 bus (must be 133) and working at 1.3 ghz
How to change bus to 133 mhz?
