Oh What an idiot, I have an Amilo D7800 and was upgrading the BIOS but it overheated half way through and shut down. Now all that happens is that the 3 lights flash and the CD drive runs, but nothing else, nothing on screen etc.
Have I buggered it up for good?
HELP!!!!! please

Yea your screwed!

All you can do is try and upgrade the bios again via a bootable disc but in all honesty I don't hold much hope!

You will need to contact FS who will arrange to get it fixed but no doubt they will charge you for it!

Is your laptop under warranty?

Shouldn't cost you much to get it sorted, about £40 shipping to and from and a max £40 - £50 in labour charges!

Depends if you think it's worth it!

There's also the possibility of replacing the BIOS chip, there are some shops on the Internet...

Yes, no need to dismantle it and sell it man! Don't be a fool.

There are companies, and of course, even Fujitsu-Siemens, can simply replace your BIOS chip with a new one. It's an easy task, and should be less expansive than selling it for parts (due to the money you would lose...).

Good luck!
