CPU Upgrade and wrong battery message

Postby primitive » Fri Jun 06, 2008 8:19 pm

Hi there
I've got an amilo A1650G and I decide to upgrade its Turion64 ML-32 1.8 with an Athlon64 3200+
Everything was fine since the time I boot up the notebook. The notebook powers normaly but after the post proccesing messages all sudden a message appears and says that I have installed a "wrong battery and the notebook will shut down in a few seconds to prevent further damage" :!:
I want to mention that if I pull out the battery the system boots to windows normaly.
Does anybody know what causes this issue and if there is a solution?
Thanks in advance

P.S. No more false processor frequency reading from windows!

I upload a picture of the error message if somebody have an idea about this

Did you try the "hardware reset" (FAQ)?

Oh yes I do..actually this was the first thing I did before I open this topic. Also I try to flash the bios but unfortunatelly without the battery this is impossible. The third thing that i do was to power on the notebook and when the system comes to windows logon then I insert the battery, when I've done this a loud single bip comes from the speakers but windows open normally and the funny thing was that windows recognise the battery with no problem and start to charge it. At the next reset of the nbook the message comes again. To kill my curiosity and to see if the battery isn't dead I put back the Turion and boot the notebook......the notebook opens normaly and no battery errors.. :?: Back to Athlon again and bip bip the same wrong battery message is up again..how can somebody explain this? I cant figure out what's wrong. The same notebook comes out from the factory with athlon64 3200+ wright? Did they came out with different battery than mine?
I have noticed that the Turion has its multiplier set to 4x at startup and 1100V Voltage this gives him a 800Mhz freq and when windows load and run applications the multiplier goes to 9x with 1300~1400V to reach his max power at 1800Ghz, The Athlon has at startup 11x and 1400V that gives him a 2.2Ghz Freq. Maybe this is the reason for the wrong battery message? Is there any way to clock down the cpu when the notebook powers on?
