Upgrading cpu Pi2530

Postby Firebird_NL » Wed Jun 18, 2008 7:09 pm

Hi,

My notebook is a little slow at the moment  Now I thought why not upgrade the cpu. I have done this before with a notebook.

My notebook:
Pi2530
SocketP:478
CPU core duo 2 T7100

Is it possible to replace the cpu whit a Duo Mobile Processor T9300?
It's the same socket but does the motherboard and bios support this?

I hope someone know this

The chipset supports the T9300 and I think the bios will do too.
But since I don't have this notebook, I can't tell you for sure.

I think that is possible. You must only upgrade notebook bios to 1.11c version (v1.09 supports penryn processors but with some errors so 1.11 is better), http://support.fujitsu-siemens.com/com/ ... uctID=3794 , T7100 and T9300 have the same thermal design power (35W) so cooler can handle.
