Amilo li1718 doesn't start

Postby iie » Tue Jun 24, 2008 10:09 pm

Hi

Today my amilo gets crazy and firstly all usb ports stop working, and after reboot I have only black screen. I plug my pc screen to see if it works with this, but the same problem, just black screen. What could break down? mainboard? CPU? Definitely not ram couse I check it. :( :(, Any suggestions?

This sounds like your main board is broken.
Did you have any USB-devices attached (especially external HDDs without own power pack) when USB stopped working?

I can't exclude the CPU but you should hear a beep code if the CPU is broken and the main board is ok.
It is very likely that the main board is broken because your USB stopped working short time before.
To me it sounds like the controller broke down and took away some other component.

It is hard to find the right main board because FSC doesn't hand out any data about it.
Try to find a defective Li 1718 with a broken component that you don't need to replace (graphics card, display...).

I have no idea what could have damaged your notebook (maybe overheating?).

The ebay offer looks fine.

Unfortunately there are no schemes available of the amilo notebooks. FSC just doesn't hand it out.

If you still have guaranty this is the best option!
I should have considered this earlier.
