Hi there,
I'm new to the forum and only popped in because I think I've knackered my Amilo Li 1705 after a RAM upgrade.
I know there's a memory section but the Amilo is not working even without and the only help comes from the beep error codes.
While hunting around for info regarding memory upgrades, I found several pages that confirmed that the 1705 could take 2x2Gb memory modules after a BIOS update which I duly applied and order a pair of 2x2Gb PC2 667 MHz modules.
These arrived today and following good static control, I fitted the 2 modules and booted the system.
The Fujitsu boot screen was displaed and I pressed F2 to enter the BIOS page to make sure the memory took.
The system appeared to freeze and after a minute, I killed the power.
On restarting the system, I got the following beep sequence.
3 beeps pause 3 beeps pause 1 beep and nothing on screen.
I took out the new memory, replaced it with the 2x512Mb originals and restarted.
Same beep sequence.
I removed all memory, same beep sequence.
Any advice?
Thanks,
G
