Amilo Pi 2550

Postby bobans » Wed Jul 16, 2008 8:22 am

I recently bought Amilo Pi 2550 which came with no OS preinstaled and no driver CD. I have installed Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit version. On the fujian xxtsu-siemens official website there are drivers for Vista that I did download. My question is this.... Is there any particular order of driver instalation (i.e which driver to be instaled first)? Second, which driver is for the webcam: bison or chiconi? Third, do I need to make BIOS update?

Thanks in advance...

Boban

P.S. Of topic... when I charge my battery the led is constantly blinking orange. Is this normal? Cause it is kinda annoynig!
And finaly... the upper left keys of the keyboard are very baddly fixed and when I type the whole upper section is pulled down to the surface making hard noise. Should I go to the service?

Where do you have the notebook from? Normally FSC notebooks come with a preinstalled OS.
It sounds like you bought a used notebook. Was this your intention?

As far as I can see the driver packages for bison and chiconi seem to be the same. Both models seem to be used in the Pi 2550.
Without knowing your notebook it isn't possible to tell which one it is. Pick one and try! ;-)

The recommended installation order is as follows:
- chipset driver
- graphics driver
- sound driver
- modem
- LAN
- WLAN
- everything else

Yes, I did noticed that the drivers for the webcam are the same. Is there any software utillity for the webcam, cause I can't use it on Skype, don't have any alternative for testing the camera (if working at all :(
