BIOS Amilo 2548

Postby Libor82 » Tue Jul 29, 2008 10:14 pm

Hi,
can you help me with looking for older version Bios for amilo 2548. Maybe version 1.0D will be good. I dont know. I have 1.0H. I cant found any other version.
I have the problem with Brightness Fn key and with this topic,1857,-Brightness-on-XP.html .

I hope change bios version will solve my problem.

Thanks, Libor.

I don't know why you need an older Bios to solve this problem.
Did you read this thread?:

Ok, sry for my english.
I installed winXP SP2 on PA2548, but if I use ntbk on battery, the brightness is very low and I cant get higher. Is very difficult read on ntbk.
I tried different graphic drivers, chipset drivers, brightness utility but not working. With FSC utility was problem about library powrprof.dll .
On AC adapter is brightness ok.

Sorry if is not a rigth place but i have a problem with my BIOS.
I have Amilo Pa 2548, and no advanced setting into BIOS, just passwords entering nothing more.
I need more info about this because i think my notebook is too slow.
My operation system is Windows Vista Home Premium with Service pack 1.
When i installed AMDPwrMon this app show me this:

Core 0 - 800MHz
Voltage - 0.800V
Core 1- 800MHz
Voltage - 0.800V
My power schema is up to maximum.

I hope somebody can help me.

VISTA has a built in driver for procesor witch alowes windows to reduce clock speed if laptop is inactive (speed steping) u can try to find and remove manualy this driver or install XP without procesor driver

Thanks for advice but i dont think is a good idea to dongrade from visto to XP, because after that i will have a problem wuth another device as VGA for example.
Actually today I realise my soundcard cant support 5.1 its funny :)
Maybe tomorrow i will throw out the laptop.
Will see.
Thanks anyway for advice.
Best wishes !

And I don't get this.... Why downgrade to XP ????

You only need to do two things...
Upgrade Ram to 4GB's and @ 800 MHZ
Install 64-bit Vista..

I have this configuration for about a year now and is still running very smoothly.....
