[AMILO PA 1538/1539] WinXP doesn't recognize WLan card

Postby griip » Tue Aug 12, 2008 1:35 am

Hello, I just bought this laptop and have a weird problem. It had Windows Xp media edition (or something similar) installed, which I didn't like at all, but the WLAN worked perfectly with it. I then uninstalled the media edition version, formatted the whole drive and installed Windows Xp pro with service pack 3. Now windows doesn't find the WLAN card at all, so I'm unable to upgrade any drivers, since there doesn't show a wlan device anywhere in the device manager, and if I try to search for it, Windows still doesn't find it. All i have are these mystery "Other devices" in the device manager; coprocessor, ethernet controller and sm bus controller, which show up yellow and don't have drivers installed, but they shouldn't have got anything to do with WLAN, right? Could anyone help me out, I'm totally at a loss here at what to do..

edit: oh right, the model for the wlan card is minicard d2301 - i've tried updating the drivers, to no avail..

First you need to install the chipset driver. Then the errors in the device manager will disappear and you should be able to install the W-LAN card.
