Amilo L1300 Heating problem

Postby karsta » Tue Aug 26, 2008 11:36 am

Hello,
I have a Amilo L1300 notebook that seems to suffer from some kind of heating problems.
After it's been on for a few minutes it becomes really warm and the air that's coming out on the left side is very hot, much warmer than anything I've encountered before with both normal desktops and notebooks.
Then after a while it simply shuts down (can be after 5 minutes or 15 minutes).. doesn't reboot, doesn't freeze - it simply shuts down.
I've tried removing the hatches at the bottom to check if there was lots of dust or something in the fan and around there, but there wasn't.
Does anyone here know if there's any kind of built-in temperature limit that it shuts down at?
Also, I've tried lots of monitoring programs to check the CPU and motherboard temperature with, but the only temperature I can get it to show me is the one for the harddrive.

Any help whatsoever would be very useful.

Thanks in advance.

The core temperature maximum of your CPU is 100°C. Beyond this it shuts down.
It is very unusual that you reach this temperature in only a few minutes.

In general we have three tips to overcome temperature problems:
1. clean the fan and grill (already done)
2. renew the heat conductive paste
3. use a cooler pad
