amilo xa 2528 No Sound

Postby thoom » Fri Sep 12, 2008 4:26 pm

hi,

I downgraded my notebook AMILO XA 2528 from vista to windows xp home edition but now i have no sound.

I found some topics on this forum and on other websites with people with the same problem.
I tried every driver they said but everythings works except my audio.

I installed the kb888111 driver for sp2 and installed the realtek high defenition audio codec but nothing seems to work.

I hope that one of you can help me.

Thanks in advance,

Thomas

(windows xp, dutch version.. don't know if its matters)

I assume you used a WinXP CD with SP2.
Did you install the chipset driver and kb888111 before you tried to install the sound? Sometimes it causes trouble if you try to install the sound driver before the patch is installed.

Did you try to install SP3? This should solve your problem too.

Sounds like you installed the driver manually by extracting the driver archive and then chosing the driver (the sys-file) from the dialog that opens up from the device manager.
