Replacing a keyboard in Pa1510 from another model?

Postby TheWaves » Sat Sep 13, 2008 1:56 pm

Hi all, hope you're well.

I am currently in line to replace my Pa 1510 keyboard after my cat decided that would be the best place for it to be sick on while I was out

I'm seeing the funny side now, and the internals of the laptop don't seem to be damaged and Windows starts fine. However after cleaning and drying the keyboard it seems some key connections have been damaged beyond repair.

I'd like to replace the keyboard so my computer doesn't smell of cat splagg for all time, but so far have only found a Pi1505 spare available (Link: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=220277661589&Category=31568&_trksid=p3907.m29). I've checked out diagrams and photos and it looks pretty much the same layout as the one in my Pa 1510. Before I go ahead and buy however I was wondering If anyone else has a bit more experience in this, and whether I can expect the connections to be the same?

Thanks for your time,
TheWaves
